Guido Giansoldati, has a background in advertising, he has directed commercials, documentaries, music videos, shorts and a feature movie.
Having received numerous awards at Italian and international film festivals with his short movies, he made his first feature film, Malabana, in Cuba in 2002. Produced by GLV and Bola Productions, Malabana won the ‘Best foreign film' and ‘Best photography' awards in the New York International Film And Video Festival, and was the first ever film directed by an Italian presented at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.
After major success on movie screens in Spain (distributed by Sherlock Films) and the USA (distributed by 21st Century), the DVD version of Malabana (distributed by Venivision) became one of the best-selling Spanish language black-comedies in Latin America.
